1 c. loosely packed brown sugar 1 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. light corn syrup 2 c. water or more as needed 1 stick 2-inch cinnamon 3 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tbsp. finely chopped walnuts or pecans Combine the sugars in a heavy saucepan. Add corn syrup, water and cinnamon stick. Simmer until a syrup has formed, 10 to 12 minutes. Add a little more water, if the syrup becomes too thick. Discard the cinnamon stick and add butter and nuts. Simmer 1 minute and serve warm. Makes 1 3/4 cups. This is very, very rich! |
