1/2 gallon milk 1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. ground sausage (Farmer John or Jimmy Dean) 1/2 c. butter 3/4 c. flour 1 onion, diced (more or less to taste) 1 dozen eggs, boiled 1 loaf toasted bread (white or wheat) Brown ground beef, sausage and diced onion; drain and put back in pan over medium-high heat. Add butter; cook until melted. Sprinkle flour in slowly until ingredients become pasty (stir constantly). Add milk a little at a time until desired consistency. Season to taste with garlic powder, seasoning salt, pepper. Cut up boiled eggs and add to gravy mixture. Serve over toast (or biscuits). LOW FAT IDEAS: Substitute milk with nonfat milk. Substitute butter with canola butter Substitute ground beef with ground turkey. |
