ANTIQUE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
Butter the size of an egg (2 tbsp.)
2 eggs
Dash of salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour

SAUCE:

1 1/2 c. milk
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt

Cream together 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons butter. Sift 1 1/2 cups flour, salt and baking powder. Add to this mixture alternately 2 eggs (one at a time) and 1/2 cup milk. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

Sauce: Heat 1 1/2 cups milk. Add to it 1 egg, 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and dash salt; all mixed together. Stir and cook until it thickens. Let cool. Put half between layers and half on top of cake.
