BLACK FOREST CAKE 
1 pkg. Pillsbury devil food cake mix
1 can Solo cherry pie filling
2 cartons Rich Whip topping
2 env. Knox gelatin
Kirschwasser brandy (clear white)
Semi-sweet chocolate

(Rich Whip is from freeze - not pre-whipped.) Bake cake as on package directions, putting 2/3 batter in one cake pan and 1/3 in other (9 inch layer pans). Cool on rack with wax paper under and cut one layer into two. Sprinkle each layer with 4 tablespoons of Kirschwasser brandy. Cover bottom layer with pie filling.

Whip topping and to make stiffer, add 2 envelopes gelatin mixed with 1/2 cup water. Cover second layer and top and sides with cream. Sprinkle top with shaved semi-sweet chocolate and lay maraschino cherries with stems on top --one for each slice. (Dry cherries on paper towels.) Better if made the day before.
