GAIL'S HEAVENLY FROSTING 
1 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan, cook together milk and flour until very thick. Cool. Beat together at high speed, sugar, shortening and butter until light and fluffy. Add cooled milk and vanilla to creamed mixture. Continue to beat until fluffy and creamy. Makes enough to fill and frost 2 (9 inch) cake layers.
