ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. sliced almonds
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. milk chocolate

Melt butter; add syrup, sugar and almonds (reserve a few for decoration on top). Stir constantly to hard crack stage. Pour out into tin foil and spread thin.

Immediately put on top milk chocolate, broken up into small pieces. When melted, smooth out and garnish with reserved almonds. Let cool completely and break up into small pieces.
