JAN'S GIANT OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. raisins
Hot water
2 c. vegetable shortening
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
6 c. rolled oats
1 c. pecans

Cover raisins with hot water and set aside to soak for 30 minutes. Drain well, discard water. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt together with electric mixer. Stir in raisins, oats and pecans.

Divide dough into 4 parts and make into rolls and warp in waxed paper. Refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours. Cut rolls into 1 inch slices and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, no longer.
