IRISH SODA BREAD 
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. raisins (one dark, one light)
1 stick butter
1 egg
2 1/4 c. buttermilk

Mix all dry ingredients, then mix in butter with hands. Add egg and buttermilk. Knead for about 5-8 minutes. Grease pan and flour to bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Before baking brush lightly with egg and put slash or cross on top of dough. Use a 9 inch springform pan or 2 loaf pans.
