POLISH CABBAGE | |
1 med. cabbage 1 med. onion 1 can tomatoes or 3 fresh tomatoes 5 strips bacon Salt, to taste Pepper, to taste Sugar, to taste Fry bacon until crisp; set aside. Drain all but 2 tablespoons pan drippings. Chop cabbage and onion; add to pan drippings. Mix to coat. Add tomatoes and seasonings. Let simmer slowly, scraping pan to keep from sticking, until cabbage is well done and tomato juice is cooked down. Crumble bacon on top. |
