PLUM CAKE 
1/4 lb. butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
2-3 lbs. pitted plums or other fruit
Cinnamon and sugar mixture

Cream butter and sugar, add some flour, then beaten eggs, mixing well. Add a little more flour, salt, baking powder, vanilla, beating well. Add rest of flour. Beat until creamy and firm consistency.

Grease a baking tin and cover with bread crumbs. Put fruit (if plums, cut in half and slit top) on cake mixture in rows. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done (sides will come away from pan). Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
