CARNE GUISADA
2 lbs. beef tips (I use chuck roast)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 lg. tomato, diced
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. oil
1/8 tsp. black pepper
3 c. water
Salt to taste

Cut beef into half inch cubes. Heat oil in heavy pan or iron skillet. Add the beef and let it simmer on low heat for 45 minutes to an hour to tenderize, stirring occasionally. Add the flour and mix well with meat and juices. Add diced tomato, spices and water. Stir until thickened and bubbly. Serve with rice or flour tortillas. Serves 8.

This was an easy recipe. I added Jalapeņos for a kick. I served it with Jasmine rice and warm corn tortillas. There were no leftovers for us as well.

I am originally from Texas. I'm looking forward to making it, won't be as good as my late moms but I'll give it a shot.
