WILTED LETTUCE 
4 slices bacon
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 lb. leaf lettuce
1/2 c. chopped green onion
Salt and pepper

Cut bacon in small pieces; fry until crisp. Drain well and reserve bacon. Add vinegar and sugar to drippings in skillet and bring to a boil. Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces. Add onion and pour the sauce over lettuce, tossing thoroughly. Sprinkle bacon bits over top and serve at once. 4 servings.

You may need to adjust vinegar and sugar to suit your taste. Sometimes I've added a little water.
