CRUMBLE APPLE WALNUT DESSERT 
4 to 5 tart apples, peeled and sliced
Dash salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

CRUMB CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. all purpose flour

1. For filling: combine salt, sugar and cinnamon.

2. Place apples in a well greased 9 inch pie pan. Top with sugar mixture. Dot with butter.

3. For crumb topping, mix butter, sugar, walnuts and flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Sprinkle filling with crumbs.

5. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until apples are tender and crumb crust is golden and done.

6. Serve hot or warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
