WAFFLE BURGERS
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, beaten
white or wheat sandwich bread
sliced or shredded cheese (of your choice)
softened butter

Heat up waffle iron or George Foreman grill.

Combine first 6 ingredients. Spread about 3 to 4 tablespoons of ground beef onto slices of bread - you want a thin layer, just enough to cover the bread slice. Don't forget the corners!! Top each with another slice of bread and spread butter on the outside of each slice.

Place on waffle iron/grill and cook for a few minutes, until the bread begins to brown.

At this point, use a fork to gently lift up the top slice of bread and add the cheese. Continue to cook just long enough to melt the cheese.

Note: If you put the cheese at the beginning, or leave it on too long, it all oozes out. Not a good thing!!

I followed your instructions exactly (except maybe used a tad more Worcestershire) and these burgers were great. My kids went nuts for them, even my picky eater, so that says something! Definitely a fun twist on burgers night.
