HICKORY NUT COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour, sifted
2 c. chopped hickory nuts

Cream butter. Add sugar and continue creaming thoroughly. Add vanilla, flour and nuts. Form into 1-inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes. Do not brown. Roll in powdered sugar.
