ALMOND POUND CAKE 
3 sticks butter, room temperature
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond
5 eggs
3 1/2 c. plain sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy. Add flavoring. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add alternately the measured flour and baking powder with milk. Begin and end with flour.

Bake in prepared tube pan 1 1/2 hours until cake tests done in preheated 325 degree oven. Cool cake 10-15 minutes on a wire rack before removing from the pan.

Grease and flour the bottom but not the sides.
