VALENTINE SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. almond extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour red sugar sprinkles (Wilton or Betty Crocker) In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and extracts. Stir in flour. Mix well. Wrap dough in Saran or plastic wrap and chill for several hours in refrigerator. Preheat oven to 375°F. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 or 3-inch heart shaped cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with red sugar sprinkles. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 3 1/2 dozen. Submitted by: Leah |
