PASTA ALLA CARBONARA 
6 slices bacon, cut into sm. pieces
3 onions, cut into sm. pieces
1 lb. mushrooms, cut sm.
4 peppers, 2 red, 2 green, cut sm.
3 eggs, beaten
1 stick butter
1 lb. linguini or thin spaghetti
Parmesan cheese

In a large skillet, saute bacon first. Spoon out bacon into a strainer to drain off fat into a dish, then saute onions, peppers and mushrooms in bacon fat.

Cook linguini as directed. Drain and reserve 1 1/2 cups of the water. Return pasta to pot. Add water, heat on low flame. Add stick of butter and beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Add half ingredients of bacon, onions, peppers and mushrooms. Turn into large platter, top with remaining ingredients and Parmesan cheese.
