CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. soft shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 1/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. grated unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour with cocoa, baking powder and salt; set aside. Lightly grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, beat at medium speed, butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. With mixer at low speed, beat in flour mixture in 4 additions alternately with milk in 3 additions, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add grated chocolate and vanilla.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes, then turn from pan.
