MILLION DOLLAR GRIDDLE CAKES 
2 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 or 2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. buttermilk
2 well-beaten eggs
4 tbsp. oil

Sift flour and measure. Resift twice with soda and salt into deep bowl. Stir in sugar. Beat eggs well and stir into buttermilk; add oil and mix well. Blend into dry ingredients with a few quick strokes, just enough to mix ingredients without beating.

Drop by spoonfuls onto hot griddle, turning only once and serve piping hot with butter and your favorite syrup. Yield 6 generous servings.
