BOILED RAISIN LOAF 
1 cup raisins
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. allspice
1 egg

Boil raisins in water for about 10 minutes. Add sugar and butter, let cool. Then add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix, then beat in egg. Pour into greased loaf pan.

Bake about 40 minutes at 375°F.

This is a great recipe. It is great with or without frosting. If you decide to frost this, I recommend cream cheese frosting.
