CHERRY PINEAPPLE TORTE 
1 lg. can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 can cherry pie filling
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 stick of softened butter
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts or both)

Butter a 9 by 12 inch pan. Pour in cherry pie filling and pineapple. Swish around to mix a little. Put the cake mix in a bowl and cut in the soft butter. Add the cup of nuts and mix this. Sprinkle this mixture over the fruit and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and serve with Cool Whip or ice cream.
