CHERRY WINKS 
Sift together:

2 1/4 c. Pillsbury's Best Enriched flour
1 tsp. double acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine:

3/4 c. shortening (preferably Crisco)
1 c. sugar (cream well)

ADD:

2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat well. Blend in dry ingredients, gradually; mix thoroughly. Add:

1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
1/3 c. maraschino cherries, chopped and mix well

Shape into balls using 1 level tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Crush 2 1/2 cups of Kelloggs cornflakes, roll each ball of dough in cornflakes.

Place on cookie sheet. Top each cookie with 1/4 of a cherry. Bake in a moderate oven (375 degrees) for 10 to 12 minutes.
