1/2 c. Crisco butter shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonful 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan. Makes 3 dozen.
