CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CHIPPERS
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. (Nestle) cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened (I use 1 of each)
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 (11 1/2 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) milk chocolate chips
2 c. quick or old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixer bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, oatmeal and nuts. Drop by slightly rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 to 10 minutes until edges are browned. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets, cool. (May be baked in greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan 25 to 30 minutes. Cool.) Cut in bars.
