CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CHIPPERS | |
1 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. cocoa 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 2 c. chocolate chips 1 3/4 c. quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked 1 c. walnuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In large bowl beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, oats, and walnuts. Drop by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9-10 minutes, just until edges browned. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely. Makes about 4 dozen 3-inch cookies. Pan variation: Spread batter in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 35 bars. |
