1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. chocolate chips
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
6 tbsp. white sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, sugars, salt, and soda. Add egg, vanilla, and continue beating as flour is added. Mix in nuts and chocolate chips with spoon and drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake only until golden brown at 375 degrees.
