1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
Nuts and chocolate chips (optional)

Mix shortening, sugars, and eggs, vanilla. Add evaporated milk alternately with flour mixture. Frost with favorite powdered sugar. Frost.
