HAM & GREEN BEAN SOUP 
1 ham bone with lots of meat on it
2 qts. water
4 c. cut green beans
3 c. cubed potatoes
2 med. onion, sliced
1/4 c. parsley
4 tsp. savory
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook ham bone 1 1/2 hours in the 2 quarts water. Cut off meat in chunks; add to soup stock with all other ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer covered until vegetables are done. Skim off extra fat. Stir in 1 cup of light cream or milk.
