GERMAN APPLE CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING | |
2 eggs 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. walnuts, crushed 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. salad oil 4 c. apples, thinly sliced Mix all together with spoon (not mixer). Batter will be stiff; spread in 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 300°F for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting or can be served with whipped cream. Cream Cheese Frosting: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1/4 c.
