2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook together flour and milk until thickens. Let cool. Beat together butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add flour and milk mixture; beat well. Double recipe for layer cake.
