PEPPER HASH 
4 c. finely chopped cabbage
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. salt

In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients. Let stand at least 1 hour to "marry" flavors. Refrigerate. The longer the better.
