BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. walnuts or pecans

Blend together sugar, vanilla, and egg; mix well. Sift flour, salt, and soda. Add to sugar mixture; add nuts. Put in a greased 8x8-inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut while warm. Remove from pan when cool.
