APPLE OAT BREAD (LOW
CHOLESTEROL)
 
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. skim milk
1/4 c. salad oil
3 egg whites
3 med. sliced green apples (unpeeled, 1 1/4 lb.)
1/2 c. honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray loaf pan with vegetable spray. Mix oats and next 4 ingredients in large bowl. In small bowl, beat honey, milk, oil and egg whites until blended. Stir into dry mixture just until flour is moistened. Fold in apples. Spoon batter evenly into loaf pan. Bake 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely, then slice.
