BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. lemon
1 tsp. almond
2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 c. all purpose flour
2 tbsp. vanilla

LEMON GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
1/4 c. lemon juice

Combine shortening and sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine flour and salt, add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Stir in flavorings. Pour batter in a greased and floured 10" tube pan. Cook in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan and spoon on lemon glaze.

LEMON GLAZE: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, mix well.
