1 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. mayonnaise

Mix with milk for a thick consistency. Drop by spoonfuls into 300 degree oil a few at a time. Cook until golden brown, drain on absorbent paper. Grated onion may be added to the batter. Good with fish dinner!
