7 1/2 lb. brisket of beef 4 onions 4 carrots Prunes Apricots Whole allspice Sear brisket on each side for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Cover bottom of roasting pan with sliced onions. Place brisket on top. Add salt and pepper, carrots, prunes, apricots, and whole allspices. Cover. Cook for approximately 2 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Watch to see water does not boil off. May have to add water. Natural gravy is made from juice of vegetables and meat. |
