SCHOOL HOUSE ROLLS | |
3/4 c. milk (barely warmed) 1 1/2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 egg 2 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp. oil 3 c. flour (all-purpose) Barely warm milk. Mix yeast with warm water and set aside. Beat 1 egg in separate bowl. Add sugar, salt, and oil to egg. Stir. Pour milk in egg mixture. Stir yeast and pour into milk and egg mixture. Add flour gradually, mix well. Cover with a hot damp cloth and let rise in warm place until double in size (about 1 hour). Dump dough onto floured board and knead well. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter, dip in melted butter and place into greased pan. Let raise 1 more hour. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until top is golden. |
