LAZY GALS WEEKEND CASSEROLE 
1 lb. beef, cut in 2 inch cubes
1/2 c. red wine Rose, Clarel, etc.
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can undiluted condensed consomme
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 med. to lg. onion, sliced
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Combine beef, wine, consomme, salt, pepper, and onion in casserole. Mix flour with crumbs. Stir into casserole mixture. Cover; bake in slow oven (300 degrees) about 3 hours until beef is tender. (Double and freeze half for another day.) Burgundy wine is good but gives a heavy flavor. Mushrooms and green pepper slices are also good. Put over noodles, mashed potatoes, or toast points.
