SHAKSHUKA SEPHARDIC MIDDLE EASTERN DISH | |
6 green peppers, cut in sm. pieces 6 tomatoes, cut in sm. pieces 4 onions, diced 2 cans of tomato sauce 3 tbsp. of oil 1 tsp. of safran powder 1 tsp. of garlic powder 1 tsp. of salt 12 eggs 1 glass of water Fry onions, garlic, safran, and oil until onion is soft but not brown. Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, peppers, and water to the above mixture. Cook for 20 minutes on medium/low or until peppers are cooked. Add eggs one at a time while mixing them. Cook for 10 more minutes or until eggs are cooked. Serve with pita bread warm or cold. Enjoy! |
