BUTTERSCOTCH SQUARES 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar and butter together; melt over low heat, but don't boil. Remove from heat, and add soda. Stir until thick to consistency of honey. Add oats and vanilla. Put in 8 x 8 pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut into squares while warm.
