SURPRISE CHOCOLATE CAKE 
Swiss chocolate or milk chocolate cake mix
8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
12 oz. chocolate chips
8 oz. Cool Whip
Hershey chocolate syrup to taste

Make cake according to directions; pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. mix cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, egg until smooth. Add chocolate chips. Spoon over unbaked cake batter; smooth out. Bake cake according to box (perhaps a little longer).

FROSTING: Mix Cool Whip and Hershey chocolate syrup and spread over cake. Refrigerate.
