MANHATTAN CLAM CHOWDER 
1 dozen clams, steam and then chop
1/2 lb. bacon, cut in sm. pieces
1/2 lb. Italian sausage, chopped and drained
1 onion, or more to suit your taste
1 garlic, use as many kernels as you like
Celery, chopped center, leaves and center stalks, about 3 stalks
Carrots, as many as you like, chopped quartered
1 can whole tomatoes or fresh or 1 can stewed tomatoes
1 bag frozen soup vegetables
Pinch thyme
Pinch of pepper to taste

In a Dutch oven or large pot, wash off clams, then steam clams, water to cover, save broth (filter out dirt). Fry... pat of butter bacon, onion, garlic, sausage... brown and serve.

In Dutch cooker broth, bacon, onion, garlic, sausage, celery, carrots, tomatoes, bag of vegetables, pinch of thyme, pepper. Cook until vegetables are done.
