SAUCEPAN APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Heat applesauce in saucepan and add butter, sugar and raisins. Remove from heat and cool in saucepan. Add salt, flour, soda and spices. Add chopped nuts and mix well. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Bake 40 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.

TOPPING:

2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. melted butter
4 tbsp. hot milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together and spread on cake while still warm. The topping will disappear into the cake, making it extra moist.
