BAKED-IN STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. sliced strawberries

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. chopped walnuts

In medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Stir in milk together with beaten egg.

Stir in melted butter and sliced strawberries.

Pour mixture into a greased baking pan.

For Crumb Topping: Combine flour, sugar and walnuts. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form.

Sprinkle crumb mixture over top.

Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.

Serve immediately. Makes one 8 inch cake.
