GRAPENUT CUSTARD (1850) 
3 c. milk, scald
1/2 c. Grapenuts
1/4 c. & 3 tbsp. sugar
3 eggs
3 tbsp. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Bake in casserole oven hot water in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
