COCONUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
5 eggs (add one at a time)
1 tsp. coconut extract
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour (plain)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 can (2 c.) coconut

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in tube pan.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. coconut extract

Bring to boil and cook until spins a thread. Spoon over cake while cake and icing are hot.
