SAUSAGE ROLLS 
1 lb. hot sausage
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. buttermilk

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add shortening. Mix with spoon. Stir in buttermilk, mixing only until moistened. Place dough on floured surface, turning to coat with flour. Roll into a 1/2 inch thick large rectangle. Sprinkle raw sausage onto dough. Beginning with long edge, roll up dough like a jelly roll. Slice with floured knife into 3/4 inch slices. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 40-45 minutes (until lightly browned and sausage is done). Serve with jelly, honey, syrup, or plain.
