STRAWBERRY-FRENCH TOAST
SANDWICHES
 
1/4 c. whipped cream cheese
12 slices sandwich bread
3 tbsp. strawberry jam
3 eggs
3 tbsp. milk
3 tbsp. butter, divided
Powdered sugar

Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese on each of 6 bread slices; spread 1 1/2 teaspoon jam over cream cheese. Top with remaining bread slices.

Combine eggs, milk, and salt in a shallow dish, beating well. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.

Cook sandwiches in a portion of the butter until browned, turning to brown both sides. Sprinkle sandwiches with powdered sugar. Yield: 6 servings.
