GRIDDLE SCONES 
3 c. unbleached flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk or buttermilk
4 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. sugar or syrup
1/2 tsp. salt

Proceed as above. Syrup makes them smoother in crust. Farmhouse griddle scones are usually made in one large scone which then gets cut up in random pieces, like the ones Chrissie MacDonald on Canna made. Serve split with butter and jam or cheese.
